Admissions & Access
When you arrive, we start with a gentle pre-assessment to understand what you need and how we can support you best. Our team will guide you step-by-step through admission, orientation, and settling into your unit. Nursing staff will complete an initial assessment, and from day one, your multidisciplinary team begins shaping a treatment plan that fits you.
Yes. A referral from a GP, psychologist, or other qualified healthcare professional is required for admission and must be addressed to one of our admitting psychiatrists, who will assess and oversee your care.
Some programmes may allow self-referral depending on the facility. If you’re unsure, we’re here to help you check what’s needed.
The length of your stay depends on your needs and how you respond to treatment. Most wellness-programme admissions range between 7 and 21 days, with many patients staying for two weeks, as this aligns with our structured programme. Your multidisciplinary team, including your psychiatrist and psychologist, monitors your progress daily and will guide you on the recommended length of stay. If your medical aid has 21 days available and the team feels a longer stay would support your recovery, this can be arranged.
Please bring your ID, medical aid card, referral letter, current medication list with existing medication, and any relevant medical reports. Comfortable clothing and personal toiletries will help you feel at home during your stay.
The first 24–48 hours are usually a settling-in period. This helps you adjust comfortably and safely. With your consent, we keep families informed and involved in your care, ensuring your preferences and confidentiality are always respected.
We’ll explain visiting guidelines when you arrive.
Visiting Hours & Family Involvement
Visiting hours differ slightly between facilities, but they generally take place in the afternoons and on weekends. Your facility will confirm the exact times.

Yes, where appropriate, family involvement is encouraged. We may arrange family sessions, feedback meetings, or education sessions to support your recovery journey.
Safety, Medication & Monitoring

Your psychiatrist prescribes your medication, and our nursing team administers it safely. We monitor how you respond and adjust your treatment as needed, as advised by a doctor.
Yes, please bring all your current medication with you. For safety, all medication must be handed to nursing staff on admission.
No. Pass-outs are not allowed during your stay. This is an important part of maintaining a safe, contained, and therapeutic environment. Staying on-site helps you remain fully engaged in the programme and supports consistent progress without outside disruptions.
